SHINYA OZAKI(Conductor)
Shinya Ozaki was born in Kagoshima, Japan on January 28, 1959, to a family of art teachers. At the age of four, he began studying piano. He graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music in 1982, studied with Seiji Ozawa, Kazuyoshi Akiyama, and Jean Furnet. He also studied conducting at te Academia musicale Chigiana with Franco Ferrara. He has received prizes at the following competitions. 1993 Received 3rd prize "Dinu Nicrescu" International Competition for Conductors in Brasov, Romania 1982 Won First place at the conducting competiton held at Toho Gakuen School of Music which was judged by conductor Seiji Ozawa. As a result of the competition was appointed conductor of the Toho Gakuen orchestra. This performance included Bartok's Violin Concerto No.2.
